In this video, Fool contributor Tyler Crowe and energy and materials analyst Joel South take a question from a Fool reader, who asks: "Regarding the new sanctions hitting Russian companies, I am thinking a lot about BP. Do you think that a possible fall in BP's share price could be a good time to invest?"

BP (BP 0.71%) has a 19.75% state in Rosneft, making it the largest foreign investor in Russian oil and gas. But U.S. persons cannot do direct business with sanctioned persons or entities -- and with Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin on the sanctions list and BP CEO Bob Dudley a U.S. citizen, this could make for an interesting story.

Is BP a good value play because of this, or perhaps because of some other reasons? Watch the video to find out.
