Getting one rig contract for several years is a major score for a company, so when Rosneft recently announced that it was going to contract North Atlantic Drilling's (NYSE: NADL) entire fleet for several years as part of its intention to take a 50% stake in Seadrill (SDRL), it possibly vaulted North Atlantic Drilling to the top of the ranks among rig company investments. Of course, it's not a coincidence that Rosneft has selected North Atlantic to do a majority of its future drilling program. The unique fleet of offshore rigs has put it in that position.
