Americans are paying more at the gas pump this week, according to an Energy Information Administration report released Monday.
The national average price for regular gasoline clocked in at $3.686 per gallon, up $0.012 from a week ago and $0.060 above the same time last year. While every region saw a gas price increase this past week, the Rocky Mountain region experienced the largest gain ($0.023). The West Coast made out with the smallest weekly increase, up just $0.004 per gallon.

While gas prices inched higher, diesel prices dipped lower in the most recent week, with a $0.010 decline over the past week to $3.882 per gallon. This latest price tag puts diesel $0.041 per gallon above the same time last year. The East Coast enjoyed an oversized $0.022 decline, while the Gulf Coast was the only region to see prices increase, a slight $0.001.

At these latest prices, the West Coast pays the prettiest penny for gasoline ($3.999) and diesel ($3.994), while the Gulf Coast can guzzle gas for just $3.428 and diesel for $3.770 per gallon.
