Texas Instruments (TXN -2.44%) was one of the biggest players at the biggest consumer electronics show in the world: the 2014 International CES in Las Vegas. Events like this are great for investors, because they're able to actually see ideas and concepts in action.

At CES, Texas Instruments showed off dozens of products and applications. From automotive to home entertainment to the connected home, the company is looking for growth areas outside its traditional product lines.

I visited the Texas Instruments booth at CES, and chatted with Kent Novak, senior vice president of DLP Products at TI. So far in this series, he's guided me through the two reasons TI is big in the Internet of Things, and where the company is seeing growth in automotive.

In this video, Kent takes us through a short tour of Texas Instrument's most unique products and prototypes. These include a futuristic shoe display based on DLP technology that can turn any surface into an interactive info center, headphones that project movies directly into the user's eyes, and an ensemble of some "things" that make up the Internet of Things.
