Canada's CGI Group (GIB -0.37%) was awarded a $107.9 million contract modification from the Department of Defense last week, exercising an option on a contract to assist with operational environment core functions for the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command's (TRADOC) G-2 support services through Sept. 9, 2016.

According to the Army, TRADOC G-2 focuses on "training, leader development, education, concepts, and capabilities development for the United States Army."

Two other publicly traded companies also won awards in the Thursday evening announcement:

  • Huntington Ingalls (HII 0.50%) was awarded a $13.8 million contract modification to perform maintenance and upgrades work on the U.S. Navy's nuclear aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) through April 2015.
  • URS Corp (NYSE: URS), soon to be acquired by AECOM (ACM 0.14%), was awarded the third of four possible option exercises, worth up to $19.8 million, to provide hazardous material products and management services to the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation through Jul. 27, 2015.
