Capital Bank Names Michael Moore CFO

Capital Bank Corp., which owns and runs Capital Bank, named Michael Moore its chief financial officer Monday, effective immediately.

Current finance chief A. Christine Baker had previously said she will retire at the end of the year. She will work with Moore during the transition.

Moore was previously senior vice president for funds management at Sky Financial Group Inc., and has worked in banks in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, the company said in a release.

Capital Bank has 26 branches in North Carolina and $1.5 billion in assets.

Shares rose 16 cents to $13.20.
