Atmel Corp., a chip maker, said Friday it completed its acquisition of Quantum Research Group Ltd., a touch sensor manufacturer.
Atmel paid about $88 million to acquire Quantum Research Group, and could pay more in cash and stock depending on Quantum Research Group's performance over the next three years.
Quantum Research Group makes touch sensors for products such as phone handsets, personal media players and home appliances.
Atmel shares added 2 cents at $3.28 in morning trading.
