Montpelier Re Holdings said Thursday it promoted Christopher L. Harris as the reinsurance company's chief executive, replacing Anthony Taylor, effective July 1.
Harris, 38, has served as Montpelier's president since Jan. 1. He joined the company in 2002 shortly after its formation.
Harris is contracted as chief executive until 2011.
Taylor will become the company's executive chairman, a position he is slated to hold until December 2009, the company said.
Montpelier also said it is promoting David Sinnott, 46, as chief underwriting officer and Timothy Aman, 41, as chief risk officer.
Montpelier shares finished unchanged at $15.96 Thursday.
