SLM Names Martin, Puleo to Board

SLM Corp. named Michael E. Martin and Frank C. Puleo to its 15-member board, the student lender better known as Sallie Mae said Monday.

Martin, 52, is president of Brooklyn NY Holdings LLC. He has been vice chairman and managing director at UBS Investment Bank, worked at Credit Suisse First Boston, and practiced law at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.

Puleo, 62, was a partner at Millbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, where he advised on structured finance deals. He is also a director at Apollo Investment Corp. and Commercial Industrial Finance Corp.
