Brown & Brown Acquiring Insurer

Insurance firm Brown & Brown Inc. said Monday one of its subsidiaries will acquire insurance agency Powers & Co.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Powers is an insurance agency with offices in California, Nevada and Arizona. It has annual revenue of about $11.2 million.

The acquisition helps Brown & Brown expand its presence in the West, including providing its first retail operation in the greater Sacramento, Calif., area.
