Zila Names Interim Chief Executive

Oral cancer test developer Zila Inc. said Tuesday its board of directors named Chairman David R. Bethune as its interim chief executive.

Bethune has served as a member of the board since 2005 and was made chairman last year.

The company said he will stay on as chairman.

Zila's chief executive position has been vacant since June. The position was formerly held by Douglas Burkett.

Zila shares were unchanged at 17 cents in afternoon trading.
