Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. NV, an industrial engineering and construction firm, said Wednesday it received a contract to engineer, fabricate and construct two ammonia storage tanks.

CBI, which is based in The Hague, expects to complete the two 50,000-metric ton tanks in 2010. They will be installed at a fertilizer plant on the coast of Qatar.

The CBI contract is part of the Qafco V fertilizer plant expansion project, which is being handled by a consortium of Snamprogetti SpA and Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. Snamprogetti is the engineering and main contracting unit of Italian oil and gas company ENI SpA.

The Qafco facility, which produces both ammonia and urea, began production in 1973 and has been expanded three times, the most recent in 2004.
