Thomson SA Names New Chairman

French technology and media services company Thomson SA on Wednesday named Francois de Carbonnel as chairman of the board.

De Carbonnel, former president of GE Capital and Citigroup, joined the board last year and is currently head of its audit committee.

Former Chairman and Chief Executive Frank Dangeard resigned in March.

Julian Waldron remains interim chief executive and chief financial officer of Paris-based Thomson.

U.S.-traded shares of Thomson added 3 cents to $6.97 in afternoon trading.
