Security Capital Assurance Ltd. named Fred Corrado and Paul E. Hellmers to the bond insurer's nine-member board on Thursday, replacing two directors who resigned last year.
Corrado, 67, was chief financial officer at Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., the supermarket chain known as A&P, from 1992 until 2002, and before that he was chief operating officer at Nabisco Brands Ltd.
He currently serves on the boards of Novell Inc. and Approva Corp.
Hellmers, 51, was chief executive at Centre Solutions Ltd. from 1998 to 2002 and was managing director and co-founder of Zurich Structured Finance. Before that he served in Morgan Stanley's capital markets group and helped the found the interest-rate and currency-swap team.
Corrado is replacing Brian M. O'Hara, and Hellmers is replacing Alan Z. Senter. O'Hara resigned in November, and Senter stepped down in December.
The appointments are effective immediately.
