Altair Nanotechnologies Names Director

Altair Nanotechnologies Inc., which makes titanium dioxide particles used in paints, pharmaceuticals and fuel cells, said Friday it named Robert G. van Schoonenberg to its board, bring the number of directors to seven.

Van Schoonenberg, 61, is currently executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary to the board at adhesive label maker Avery Dennison Corp.

He also serves as chairman and chief executive of private equity and advisory firm BayPoint Capital Partners LLC _ roles which he plans to take on full time after he retires from Avery Dennison in December.
