Shares of gold mining companies closed higher Tuesday as the commodity rose for a second consecutive session.
Gold for June delivery added $3.30 to settle at $932 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange, after earlier rising as high as $939.80 an ounce.
Here is how some gold mining companies fared:
Goldcorp Inc. rose $1.25, or 3.1 percent, to $41.27.
Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. added $2.44, or 3.5 percent, to $72.53.
Newmont Mining Corp. rose 33 cents, to $45.45.
Barrick Gold Corp. gained 51 cents, to $43.48.
