Closing Glance: Telecom equipment stocks inch lower

Shares of telecommunications equipment companies closed lower on a choppy trading day Tuesday, even as the broader market ended higher. Investors were hit with mixed data that included a rebound in New York manufacturing as well as signs of rising inflation.

Here is a look at how some key telecom equipment stocks performed Tuesday:

Cisco Systems Inc. fell 20 cents to $23.11.

Alcatel-Lucent American Depositary Shares fell 9 cents to $5.78.

Nortel Networks Corp. slid 8 cents to $6.85.

Juniper Networks Inc. fell 38 cents to $22.73.
