Opening Glance: Telecom equipment stocks climb after Intel

Shares of telecom equipment companies climbed Wednesday morning as solid a first-quarter report and outlook from chip maker Intel Corp. lifted the entire tech sector.

JPMorgan and Coca-Cola also reported strong earnings, giving some relief to investors worried about the health of the quarter's corporate profits.

Here is how some key telecom equipment stocks performed Wednesday morning:

Cisco Systems Inc., rose 49 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $23.60.

Alcatel-Lucent American Depositary Shares rose 17 cents, or 2.9 percent, to $5.95.

Nortel Networks Corp. rose 24 cents, or 3.5 percent, to $7.09.

Juniper Networks Inc. rose 50 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $23.23.
