Zumiez director Barnum buys 54,937 shares of stock

A director of sports clothing and accessories retailer Zumiez Inc. bought 54,937 shares of stock, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Friday.

In a Form 4 filed with the SEC, William M. Barnum Jr. reported he bought the shares for $18.05 to $18.40 apiece on Thursday.

Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.

Zumiez is based in Everett, Wash.
