POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) _ CH Energy Group Inc., a New York utility and fuel distributor, said Monday its first-quarter profit fell 11 percent as consumer cut back on energy usage amid a high prices and a weakening economy.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) _ Tyson Foods Inc., the world's largest meat producer, said Monday it lost $5 million in its second-quarter as it faces high feed and fuel costs and absorbed charges for previously-disclosed plant closings.

TOKYO (AP) _ Japanese electronics maker Matsushita's profit more than doubled in the January-March quarter, buoyed by strong sales of cell phones, flat-panel TVs and DVD players, the company said Monday.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ Old National Bancorp's profit leaped 79 percent in the first quarter as the bank grew its loan portfolio, the company said Monday.

BEIJING (AP) _ Bank of China Ltd., China's second-biggest commercial lender, said Monday that its first-quarter profits rose 85 percent to 21.7 billion yuan ($3.1 billion) on growth in interest and fee income.

NEW YORK (AP) _ Carolina Group's profit slipped 10 percent in the first quarter on weaker investment returns and higher advertising costs, the cigarette maker said Monday.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) _ Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., the world's biggest shipbuilder, said Monday that first-quarter net profit rose 19 percent from the same period last year amid record sales.
