Adobe Systems Inc. may discuss new product releases that include Creative Suite 4 at an analyst meeting in San Francisco on Thursday, according to one analyst.
The software maker is likely to release Creative Suite 4 before the end of the year, Cowen & Co. analyst Walter Pritchard said, making now an opportune time to buy the stock.
"Adobe has historically experienced multiple expansion several quarters prior to a product release," Pritchard wrote in a client note, who rates the stock "Outperform."
Pritchard said the company hasn't offered a firm shipment date for Creative Suite 4 at presentations over the past several months, but Pritchard suspects a release this fall.
Adobe may also discuss Adobe AIR, an application that lets companies create downloadable, desktop versions of their Web sites using Adobe software.
Pritchard said the application makes Adobe "out ahead of the competition," but warned it's still early.
"The medium- and long-term questions that need to be answered, for investors to size the opportunity with AIR, is to better understand how the platform is monetized," Pritchard wrote.
Pritchard also expects management to back its outlook on Thursday.
