Closing Glance: Telecom Equipment stocks slip

Telecommunications equipment companies headed mostly lower Monday as Wall Street retreated after Microsoft pulled its bid for Yahoo and oil prices rose to more than $120 a barrel.

Nortel slipped following Friday's earnings report and Cisco inched slightly lower ahead of its fiscal third-quarter earnings report scheduled for Tuesday.

How some key telecom equipment stocks performed Monday:

Cisco Systems fell 47 cents to $26.28.

Alcatel-Lucent's American depositary shares fell 11 cents to $6.82.

Nortel Networks Corp. fell 19 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $8.30.

Juniper Networks Inc. fell 25 cents to $28.54.
