Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp., a silver and gold miner, said Monday its Cerro Bayo Mine in southern Chile resumed operations sooner than planned.
Production had been suspended to upgrade the silver mine's electrical infrastructure.
The company said April 8 that the mine would cease operations for six weeks. The mine was able to resume operations sooner than planned "due to rapid mobilization of contractors, expedited procurement of materials and participation of the mine's own work force to assist with the work," Coeur d'Alene said in a statement.
Shares rose 5 cents, to $3.16 in morning trading.
