Canadian media software company Corel Corp. said Monday it appointed Kris Hagerman as interim chief executive, effective Thursday.
Hagerman, 44, is former group president of Symantec Corp.'s data center management group.
The Ottawa-based company said April 21 that current CEO David Dobson is leaving to take an executive position with a Fortune 500 company. Dobson will remain a member of Corel's board during a transition period, expected to last through June.
Corel products include Paint Shop Pro and WordPerfect.
Shares were unchanged at $10.81 in morning trading.
