Opening Glance: Construction, engineering shares open lower

Shares of construction and engineering companies traded lower with the broader markets, even as a BMO Capital Markets analyst raised earnings estimates on Granite Construction Inc. and a Stifel Nicolaus analyst predicted Quanta Services Inc. would meet his estimates when the company reports first-quarter results Wednesday.

Here's how some shares of construction and engineering companies were faring in morning trading:

Granite Construction, down 28 cents to $31.15.

Quanta Services, down 67 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $25.85.

McDermott International Inc., down 8 cents, to $54.18.

Pike Electric Corp., down 7 cents to $15.64.
