MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Alliant Techsystems Inc. raised its fiscal 2009 profit target because it expects lower operating costs, the military contractor said Thursday.

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. (AP) _ Teen apparel maker The Wet Seal Inc. on Thursday raised its first-quarter earnings guidance due to better-than-expected cost reductions.

DALLAS (AP) _ Specialty jeweler Zale Corp. said Thursday it expects a smaller third-quarter loss from continuing operations than what analysts have forecast.
