Closing Glance: Telecom services close mostly lower

Shares of the largest telecommunications carriers closed lower along with the rest of Wall Street Friday with the exception of Sprint Nextel, which is scheduled to post first-quarter results on Monday.

Here is a look at how some key telecom stocks performed Friday:

AT&T Inc. fell 27 cents to $38.59.

Sprint Nextel Corp. rose 40 cents, or 4.5 percent, to $9.38.

Verizon Communications Inc. fell 34 cents to $37.91.

Qwest Communications International Inc. fell 11 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $4.78.
