Chip design company Rambus Inc. said Friday that board member Bruce Dunlevie has been appointed chairman, effective May 8.
Dunlevie has been a board member since the company was founded in 1990 and has been a general partner of venture capital firm Benchmark Capital since May 1995.
The company said in April that current chairman Kevin Kennedy would resign July 1, or earlier if the company found a replacement.
Kennedy indicated he is leaving for personal reasons, Rambus said. He had been a director since 2003 and was chairman since 2006.
