Shares of major microchip companies edged higher with the broader market in early trading Monday, following a dip after the opening bell. Mobile network provider Sprint Nextel put some pressure on the technology sector in the early going but chip stocks rebounded as the market rose, as investor concerns on inflation were eased somewhat by falling oil prices.
Here's how the major chip companies fared in trading early Monday:
Intel Corp. up 5 cents to $23.42.
Texas Instruments Inc. up 6 cents to $29.87.
Qualcomm Inc. up 15 cents to $43.87.
Advanced Micro Devices Inc. up 18 cents to $7.12.
