Research In Motion starts $150 million mobile research fund

Mobile communications company Research In Motion Ltd., Royal Bank of Canada and media company Thomson Reuters PLC said Monday they will invest $150 million venture-capital fund for applications for use in mobile devices.
Waterloo, Canada-based Research In Motion said the BlackBerry Partners Fund will finance applications for its BlackBerry phones and other mobile products.
The company currently makes BlackBerry phones that use voice, e-mail and text message communication. Other products include software development tools.
