Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer said Tuesday it will spend $50 million to build a facility to assemble and finish small business jets in Melbourne, Fla.
The company, whose full name is Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica S.A., said the facility is expected to employ 200 skilled workers by 2011.
The 150,000-square-foot plant will contain a final assembly line capable of producing Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 executive jets, along with a paint shop and customer design center.
U.S.-traded shares fell 30 cents to $41.16 Tuesday.
