GigaMedia expects 2Q sales to match 1Q

Online gaming company GigaMedia Ltd. said Tuesday it anticipates second-quarter sales to approximately match its $54.6 million in sales in the first quarter, largely because of a seasonal slowdown.

The Hong Kong-based company said its outlook reflects industrywide sales patterns during the summer months.

However, it said the slowdown may be offset in part by product launches such as new poker formats and traditional Asian games.
