Shares of insurers fell Tuesday morning as broader markets declined,` as the Federal Reserve's chief said the credit crisis is "still far from over."

Shares of bond insurer MBIA Inc. fell 8 cents to $9.77.

Shares of PMI Group Inc., a bond insurer, fell 3 cents to $6.12.

American International Group Inc. shares fell 11 cents to $38.26.

Travelers Cos. shares fell 16 cents to $51.06.
