Closing Glance: Insurers rise

Shares of insurers mostly rose Thursday as broader markets posted gains and Ace Ltd. raised its dividend 7 percent.

How shares of major insurers finished the day:

Ace rose 51 cents to $61.63.

Bond insurer Ambac Financial Group Inc. rose 8 cents to $3.98.

Mortgage insurer MGIC Investment Corp. rose 74 cents, or 5.9 percent, to $13.23.

American International Group Inc. shares rose 13 cents to $39.57.
