Among the earnings projection stories for Thursday, May 15, from AP Financial News:

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) _ Telecommunications equipment maker UTStarcom Inc. said Thursday that it expects its second-quarter revenue to rise up to 13.3 percent year over year.

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (AP) _ Autodesk Inc. cut its outlook for profit this year because of stock compensation costs, the design software maker said Thursday after reporting 14 percent profit growth in the fiscal first quarter.

HOUSTON (AP) _ Business software company BMC Software Inc. said Thursday it expects fiscal 2009 earnings to rise between 34 percent and 40 percent compared with the previous year.
