Shares of Advance Auto Parts Inc. could trade higher on Friday after the auto parts retailer said its first-quarter profit rose 8 percent to $82.1 million, or 86 cents per share, on better sales at new stores.
The results beat Wall Street estimates by 8 cents per share, according to a poll of analysts by Thomson Financial.
Shares of Clean Energy Fuels could trade heavily after the gas provider posted a first-quarter loss after contracts to lock in prices lost value. The company said it lost $5.4 million or 3 cents per share.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission Thursday, Berkshire reported no stake in Ameriprise, whereas it reported 661,742 shares as of Dec. 31.
