Wachovia Corp. said Friday it named John Papadopulos president of the bank's retirement and investment products business.
Papadopulos, 49, replaces Robert Reid, who recently became head of the real estate division.
For the past 12 years, Papadopulos has worked at Wachovia's investment bank, most recently as managing director in the financial institutions group. He also served for four years as managing director of institutional investor management.
Before joining Wachovia, he was managing director at Bankers Trust in New York and Continental Illinois Bank in Chicago.
The retirement and investment products group, with annual sales of $12.5 billion, sells investments like IRAs and annuities.
