Nasdaq 100 Leaders and Laggards: UAL, SanDisk

The Nasdaq 100 index declined Monday, pulled lower by UAL Corp., SanDisk Corp. and Garmin Ltd.
The index, which includes 100 of the largest nonfinancial securities listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market, shed 14.67 points to 2,016.60. The broader Nasdaq composite declined 12.76 points to 2,516.09.
UAL, which operates United Airlines, declined $1.39, or 10.1 percent, to $12.42. United Airlines and Jet Airways have agreed to offer codeshare service on flights between the United States and India.
Memory chip maker SanDisk declined $2.42, or 7.5 percent, to $30.02. At a conference, the company warned of weak sales.
Personal navigation device maker Garmin declined $2.67, or 5.3 percent, to $47.35, following an analyst downgrade.
On the rising side, shares of Amazon.com Inc. advanced $5.83, or 7.6 percent, to $82.29, after Goldman Sachs added the online retailer to a group of preferred stocks.
Medical technology company Hologic Inc. rose 84 cents, or 4 percent, to $21.77.
Communications equipment company Tellabs Inc. rose 20 cents, or 3.6 percent, to $5.79.
