Commercial bank stocks were mixed Monday morning after a report from the Conference Board showed the economy remained sluggish in April.
Meanwhile, Citi Investment Research analyst Keith Horowitz upgraded the National City Corp. to "Buy" from "Hold," citing in part the bank's recent $7 billion capital raise.
Here's how some shares of commercial banks are trading:
National City Corp., up 13 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $5.71.
Wachovia Corp., down 15 cents to $27.24.
First Horizon National Corp., down a penny to $9.90.
Zions Bancorp., up 21 cents to $44.26.
