Health care equipment and supply stocks fell in early trading Monday after the Conference Board said its forecast of future economic activity rose 0.1 percent in April, a sign the U.S. economy remains sluggish.

Varian Medical Systems Inc. lost 24 cents to $45.71.
Boston Scientific Inc. fell 6 cents to $13.34.
Stryker Corp. dropped 72 cents to $62.52.
Baxter International Inc. slipped 17 cents to $61.10.
