Shares of health care equipment and supply companies mostly fell early Tuesday amid broad market losses as oil prices escalated to more than $129 a barrel and a government report showed an uptick in wholesale inflation.

Boston Scientific Inc. slipped 7 cents to $13.31.
Stryker Corp. dropped 14 cents to $62.45.
Bucking the trend, Baxter International Inc. rose 10 cents to $61.55.
