RenaissanceRe expands buyback program to $500M

RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. expanded a stock buyback program to $500 million, the reinsurer said Tuesday.

The company did not say how much was eligible for repurchase before the new authorization.

RenaissanceRe also declared a regular dividend of 23 cents.

The dividend is payable June 30 to shareholders of record on June 13, the reinsurer said.

RenaissanceRe Holdings shares fell 61 cents to close at $52.08.
