Closing Glance: Insurers fall with broader market

Shares of insurers mostly fell Wednesday as the broader market fell sharply, amid a bleak assessment of the economy by the Federal Reserve and continued record-setting prices for oil.

American International Group Inc. shares fell $1.16, or 3 percent, to $36.96.

Chubb Corp. shares declined 98 cents, or 2 percent, to 452.56.

Travelers Cos. fell 67 cents, to $49.17.

Bond insurer MBIA Inc. slumped 97 cents, or 10.7 percent, to $8.12.
