Opening Glance: Investment Banks dip

Shares of investment banks dipped early Wednesday morning, trading down slightly while the broader market started off with a modest gain and then turned mixed as investor concern mounted regarding inflation and continued rising oil prices.
Bear Stearns Cos. shares slipped 4 cents to $9.57.
Goldman Sachs Group Inc. fell 48 cents to $181.95.
Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. fell 55 cents to $41.45.
Merrill Lynch & Co. shares fell 21 cents to $46.10.
Morgan Stanley fell 73 cents to $44.07.
