NIC Inc. said Friday Maine and Hawaii renewed contracts for the company to continue to manage their Web sites.
NIC says Maine signed on for e-government services for another four years and Hawaii signed on for another five years. Both contracts include renewal options. Maine has used NIC to run its Maine.gov Web site since 1999; Hawaii has used NIC since 2000 for Hawaii.gov.
NIC said it has worked with more than 180 state and municipal agencies in Maine and 25 state agencies in Hawaii to develop online services at no upfront cost to taxpayers.
NIC says it provides Internet services for 2,900 state and municipal agencies that serve more than 69 million people in the United States. The company is based in Olathe, Kansas.
