Ikanos Communications buys back 1 million shares

Computer networking company Ikanos Communications Inc. said Friday it bought 1 million shares from an institutional investor for $3.15 per share.

The deal was part of a buyback program introduced last month. The purchase lowers the amount of outstanding Ikanos shares by about 3.4 percent.

Ikanos shares closed up 11 cents, or 3.2 percent, to $3.56.
