Salt and fertilizer producer Compass Minerals International Inc. said Tuesday two of its subsidiaries will raise prices on consumer and industrial products by an average of $22 per ton, effective July 28.
North American Salt Co. and Sifto Canada Corp. will raise prices on packaged and bulk mineral products such as water conditioners, food-grade salt, agricultural minerals, industrial minerals and pool salt.
The price increases are due to inflationary pressure and to support investments necessary due to growing demand, Compass Minerals said.
Earlier this month the companies said they will increase prices of deicing products by an average of $20 per ton, or about 10 percent, and implement fuel surcharges.
