ZymoGenetics gets OK for blood-clotting drug size

ZymoGenetics Inc. said Tuesday the Food and Drug Administration approved a larger vial size for the biotechnology company's blood-clotting drug Recothrom Thrombin.
The drug was already available in 5,000 IU vials and is approved in 20,000 IU vials. International Units, or IUs, is a measurement used for drugs.
The company also received approval for a spray kit with the blood-clotting drug.
Shares of ZymoGenetics rose 20 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $9.10 in morning trading. The stock has traded between $8.09 and $16.80 over the last 52 weeks.
