SEI Investments Co., an investment and asset management company, said Thursday that it has added more than $4.1 billion in new institutional assets under management and 16 new clients through April.

Among SEI's new clients this year are Teleflex Inc. and Sensata Technologies, the company said. Additionally, Bpf Meubel, a $2.3 billion pension fund for employees in the furniture and furnishing industry in the Netherlands, has hired SEI to manage a bulk of the pension fund.

SEI now services more than 500 institutional clients in seven countries.

U.S. growth has been fueled by a demand for outsourcing the management of pension plans, defined contribution plans, endowments and foundations, SEI said.
