Boots & Coots International Well Control Inc., which extinguishes oil and gas well fires, said Monday that Dewitt Edwards has been appointed chief operating officer.
Edwards has worked for Boots & Coots since September of 1998, mostly recently as executive vice president.
The appointment "recognizes Dee's role in successfully leading the company's expansion and integration efforts," the company said in a statement.
Shares rose 2 cents to $2.17 in afternoon trading.
